GIS - What is it?

GIS - Geographic Information System, also known as ‘geoprocessing’, is the combination of technologies for collecting, processing analyzing and publishing information with georeference. This system is composed by solutions combining the components hard, software and human resources. Because of its versality (?), the system is applicable for the most different application fields, like, for example, cartography, environmental impact analyses, Geomarketing it in an efficient tool for the decision making process.
