History

 

Fototerra was founded in 1993 and acquired by the Group Digimapas in 2001 with the purpose to introduce new technologies in the area of aerial photography. The technological cooperation’s with international entities resulted in 2004 with the big highlight to be to first company operating a big format digital camera in Latin America. In the following year were flown approximately 6000 km2 of the principal Brazilian capitals, resulting in the generation of products in the scale 1:2000.


In the same year(2005) the Digimapas group started its operations in Chile, using simultaneously two medium format cameras in combination with a high resolution laser mapping system designed for forest monitoring and management systems.
